Notice, in the instructions that God gave, Noah was to build a door in the side of the ark. Just one door. This one door is the only door through which any humans or any animals could enter into the ark. There are representatives of every kind of animal present, and they all have to come through this one door. Other Scriptures tell us that Noah preached to those around him, and presumably, they too could be saved, but they needed to enter in through this one door.

When it returned with an olive branch in its beak, Noah knew that the waters had receded and that he and his family could begin a new life. After the ark came to rest on Mount Ararat , and Noah and the other people and animals left it, God set a rainbow in the heavens as a sign that he would never again destroy the world by flood.
